April Ross
April Ross, a beach volleyball player in the US, is among a select group of women who have been awarded medals at more than one Olympics. She will be competing in Tokyo for her 3rd Olympic gold medal along with Alix Klineman who is a first time Olympian. Ross also hopes to get her first Olympic medal. And at the age of 39, it could be her last opportunity to accomplish this. Nevertheless, she remains convinced of winning top awards. If we do our highest or perform well, I think we'll win the gold medal Ross stated on NBC Boston. Also, I am going be relying on a little bit of good luck. Ross born in 1982 and was raised within Costa Mesa California with her sister and parents, began competing in the sports of the Newport Harbor High School. She went on to compete in numerous activities in Newport Harbor High School. Being a pre-athlete she was also a participant in indoor volleyball and track. Though she excelled at indoor volleyball, it was clear that her abilities were higher than normal. In her own biography her high school days, she played volleyball as an outside hitter (middle blocker) and setting (outside blocker). Her efforts were recognized by her being named 1999 Gatorade's Circle of Champions National Player of the Year. Also, in 2000 she was named Orange County Athlete of the Yr for volleyball. Ross Klineman and Ross may be working on a project at the beginning of 2017, but Ross had already been a seasoned player at the beach before they joined forces. She has won numerous tournaments, including one with the legendary player of volleyball. She teamed up along with Jennifer Kessy from 2007-2013, and was also Klineman's personal trainer. Along with Kessy Ross was awarded a World Title in 2009, while racing on the international circuit. In 2012, the pair won silver at London's Olympic Games. They were knocked out of the gold medal by the legendary group comprising Misty and Kerri Walsh (Jennings). Ross was Walsh Jennings new partner after May-Treanor's departure. They won the bronze medal in beach volleyball during the Rio Olympics 2016. Ross played for the Trojans of USC in her college the years prior to her professional career. Her experience at USC was awe-inspiring. When she was a freshman in 2000, her play earned her the Pac-10 and NCAA Freshman-of-the-Year honors. She also helped the Trojans to make it to the Final Four. She suffered a devastating personal loss during her sophomore year, but she still repeated in the ranks of an All-American. In her last two years, she took the Trojans up the mountain and took home consecutive national championships. In 2003-04, Ross was named as the most successful female volleyball player on the collegiate scene in the US according to the Honda Sports Award. Ross studied International Relations at USC. Margie Ross, Ross' mother, was never given the privilege of watching Ross' daughter blossom into an international beach volleyball star. When Ross was a sophomore at USC her mother died of breast cancer. But she still keeps her parents close to her his heart. Margie is a source of inspiration both in her personal life and at the beach.
